It's Christmas Week!

I'm tired--going with bullets tonight.
  • Griz lost Friday night.
  • Saints lost Saturday afternoon.
  • Not a good weekend for Montana football.
  • Watched game Saturday with the young lady who is in my former position as pep band director at Carroll. A former student of mine. And good luck charm, apparently. I won over $300 playing keno while watching the game!
  • Had the family Christmas brunch this morning, with only half the family around. Still nice though.
  • Might have a coolant leak in my car. Hopefully not anything major...
  • Waiting for Kamey to come into town tonight from Alaska. More beers to be consumed!!
  • Anyone realize that Christmas is this week???

Today's CD is "It's a Spike Jones Christmas". This is one that you sort of need to be a fan of Spike Jones to truly appreciate. And then you also have to be prepared to not get the "glug-glugs", belches and slapstick arrangements that you might expect to hear from a Spike Jones recording. These are more traditional choral arrangements, with just a tinge of the novelty style that the City Slickers were known for. This one is a CD that will grow on you if you let it. It has become a favorite of mine for years. There's the classics "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" and "Nuttin' for Christmas", and a couple of other novelty arrangements, but most of the album is filled with medleys of traditional carols and songs, as well as lesser-known ones like "Chrismas Island". I do recommend this one, but you probably need to be in the Christmas spirit ahead of time...
Don't forget this week's theme, and the fact that we're doing HNT a day earlier than normal! Check the link at the top of the sidebar for details!
