Sometimes It's the Little Things...

Nothing points out the fact that I need to get a life as the giddiness I feel in sharing these two pics...

Since mid-July, the ceiling above my toilet has been dripping. Not at a constant rate, but enough to time one's business on the toilet in order to avoid the next drip. Fortunately, most of the drips ended up directly in the toilet, but occasionally, the drips would divert away from the direct drop, and hit the carpet. Yes, carpet. My bathroom was carpeted. Let that sink in... Eventually, the carpet got to a condition where it needed to be replaced. Mold, discoloring, and an appearance that looked like I had the aim of a two year old. Moose would probably concur.

Without getting into the hassles I've gone through in getting this taken care of, I can happily report that I now have a new bathroom floor (vinyl, thank you), and the chunk of ceiling that was basically falling out has been prepped for patching. It's the little things in life that bring me joy and happiness. Such as the joy of not having to be the one who ripped out the carpet (can you imagine how nasty that had to be???). It appears that 2012 is starting out well!!

I do not understand carpet in the bathroom. Ever. Makes no sense.

I'm glad to hear the hassle of getting it fixed has been worth it. :)

eeeeuuwwww!..
I could never understand those little rugs people put around toilets either.

Good thing your people finally got it fixed. Nice way to start the new year on a clean toilet/flooring/ceiling ...
Now you can concentrate on business.

Carpet in the bathroom?

You mentioned the floor (and yes, I can attest to how nasty the carpet was) and said the hole is about to be patched. You did not mention if they are actually addressing the plumbing issue that led to the drip...

I used to watch all of the bowls. Now I hardly watch any of them. It's hard to be enthusiastic about two teams that you never followed playing a "bowl game" in a half empty stadium. Coaches like them because of the extra 30-40 days. But, from a fan perspective, most of the games are forgettable.
