The End of a Long Few Days...

Actually, it wasn't that bad. The weather was atrocious. Below zero temps, a stiff breeze, and a bit of snow. As my mom said, it was a good thing that it was his funeral, because he wouldn't have ventured outside for someone else's! Lots of family friends, and lots of people I didn't know. The open bar didn't turn out to be a mistake. Most people had filtered through within two hours. Lots of food left over too, so football and Thanksgiving will be taken care of! (Speaking of Thanksgiving, it was pretty much going to be a downer this year already...anyone have suggestions about what to be thankful for?)

I think we're all doing well. And definitely tired. Mom told us all that we were supposed to spend tonight at home and stay out of the weather. I think she just wanted to have some 'alone' time. She's got a list of errands that she needs to take care of by herself on Wednesday (including picking up Dad to hang onto until we take him to the cemetery on Friday). She's definitely refusing to wallow.

Thank you to all of you who sent emails and messages. I'll try to respond to them in the near future. Trust me, they were very much needed! And if you left a comment on one of my posts or on FB, trust that they were read and appreciated! To those of you who have never before left a comment, or lurked without my knowledge (Kat! Damned glad to see you're still around here!), I hope you stick around! I wish we could all meet and have a big group hug!

Things will get back to normal shortly around here. There's so much that has been left by the wayside. The Griz lost. I lost my bet to Gucci. The Saints won. The weather sucks. Black Friday will actually get some of my business this year. Symphony stuff starts up for the Christmas season. Busy, busy, busy around here!

I send hugs to you and all your family. Tell your mom from me she has my admiration and respect for being such a brave and strong lady.

I'm always lurking in a completely uncreepy manner.

Big hugs to you. And maybe the easiest thing to be thankful for right now (and I know how hard it is to try) is all the happy memories you got to make with your dad.

Os, I'm so sorry. I haven't visited here lately and had no idea about your Dad. I'm so VERY sorry. My year started off sucking with my Mom passing and yours is ending with your Dad passing. Even though you say it will be a hard Thanksgiving for things to be thankful for, I'm sure you can still come up with plenty, the wonderful times you had with your Dad, the family you have remaining, I'm thinking you can come up with plenty. I also love that your Mom isn't wallowing. That is AWESOME. I'm sure she will do things in her own time by herself. That would be the way I would want it. The biggest, hugest ((((HUG)))) for you. This will get easier as time goes on. I know it will be a difficult holiday but I hope you can find things to be thankful for. Love ya.

I find this a sad but sweet time to have his funeral around the holidays. When faimlies are normally brought together. I know your probably ready for some alone time.

Im glad to hear your doing well.

Thinking about you.

We all have something to be thankful for, even in these horrible times. In time when your head clears they will come to you.
You have hundreds of people who love you and care about you and your family, How great is that!
Your heath will continue to improve and you will feel better every day.
Plus so much more.
We all love you Scott!
Take care of yourself

I will lurk, but in a very creepy way. Anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Next time I'm visiting my home state I'll look you up and give you a giant hug. <---What could possibly give your more cause to be thankful??

Love to you. Go Cats. FTG. Did I just type that?? Bad Gucci.

Be thankful for all those happy years with your dad. Be thankful for all those who came to say goodbye, as well; even those you didn't know. What a great tribute.

Have a good Thanksgiving, dear friend. Big hugs headed your way!!

We love you!!
